Principle Introduction
The basic working principle of a disc stack centrifuge is to separate different components in a mixture based on density differences. This is achieved by rotating a bowl containing the mixture at high speed, generating centrifugal force that drives denser particles or liquids outward toward the bowl wall, while less dense fluids move inward toward the center.
The disc stack inside the bowl significantly increases the effective separation area, thereby enhancing separation efficiency. The conical discs in the stack form a series of narrow channels through which the fluid must pass. As the fluid flows through these channels, denser particles or liquids are forced toward the bowl wall, while lighter fluids migrate toward the center.
